Largest Aero Magnetic Survey ever conducted in
the world:
In support of a Saudi Aramco plan
in 2000 for the largest air borne survey project in the world, we sought
the interest of companies specialized in airborne surveys.
“Sander Geophysics Arabia Co Ltd”
(SGAL) is a Saudi – Canadian Joint Venture Company established in 2002
in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to provide airborne survey services to the
oil, gas & mining industries.

Our Canadian partner “Sander
Geophysics Ltd” is one of the largest airborne geophysical contractors
having a fleet of 9 fixed wing aircrafts and one helicopter. They are
specialized in high resolution airborne surveys conducted for
hydrocarbon and mineral exploration and environmental studies. The
company carries our aeromagnetic, gravimetric and radiometric surveys
all over the world.
In Saudi Arabia, since the
inception of Sander Geophysics Arabia Co, the company has bagged all
contracts released for airborne surveys in the Kingdom.

Sander Geophysics Arabia conducted
a major aeromagnetic survey in partnership with Fugro-Suhaimi for Saudi
Aramco. Under the agreement Sander Geophysics was responsible for data
acquisition, processing, map production and interpretation for about
900,000 lkm of aeromagnetic surveying.
It also conducted a large airborne
gravity survey for South Rub Al Khali Co Ltd (SRAK) in the Rub al Khali
region. That was the largest airborne gravity survey ever flown, and
was successfully completed by Sander Geophysics Arabia.

From Jan 2006 to May 2006 SGAL
conducted successfully an aeromagnetic and radiometric survey for the
Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Maa’den) in the Western region of Saudi
Arabia.
SGL’s AIRGrav is the industry
leading airborne gravity system, and offers many advantages over
competing gravimeters, including:
1. Significantly better resolution and accuracy
2. Ability to operate under normal daytime flying
conditions
3. Ability to provide high quality gravity data
while flying in drape mode
4. Ability to provide good quality aeromagnetic
data concurrently with the AIRGrav data
5. Significant operational efficiencies
6. Shorter time required for data acquisition and
processing
Recent AIRGrav surveys have
demonstrated an accuracy of 0.2 mGal with a resolution of 2.0 km in a
fixed wing aircraft, and an accuracy of 0.2 mGal with a resolution of
0.5-1.0 km in a helicopter. A total of four AIRGrav systems are now
operating worldwide.
Our group was also chosen to
provide professional quality control personnel to monitor the data
quality acquired by the main contractor.

Other companies interested in doing
short term contracts with Saudi Aramco and other oil companies in the
region using the large high resolution Air Mag Survey approached us
seeking our assistance & business cooperation.
The prominent among them is an
Australian company, Archimedes Consulting Pty Ltd. They had developed a
unique technique for the processing and interpretation of Aero Magnetic
data. They have recently completed a pilot study for Saudi Aramco and
are awaiting the generation of commercial contracts.
